CRJ Doors
Klune provides the components for the CRJ series aircraft doors. This involves sheet metal forming out of Klune North Hollywood and machining out of Klune Spanish Fork.
Challenge
Klune has to manage a very detailed and complex design including deep undercut pockets and mitigating distortion issues and twisting.
Remedy
Klune has set-up a detailed procedure consisting in machining the parts in a specific order using cutting tools with modified geometry.
Results
Therefore our teams were able to achieve 100% compliance on surface profiles and all tolerances given by our customer. This has established Klune as a preferred supplier for monolithic machined aircraft doors.
