G650 Doors & Frames
Klune provides the doors and frames for the new G650 aircraft. This has established Klune as a preferred supplier for the premium business jet market.
Challenge
Klune has to manage a very detailed design including deep undercut pockets and mitigating distortion issues and twisting. This program's aggressive ramp-up has also required Klune to meet challenging deadlines for delivering the initial parts.
Remedy
Klune has set-up a detailed procedure consisting in machining the parts in a specific order using cutting tools with modified geometry.
Results
Therefore our teams were able to achieve 100% compliance on surface profiles and all tolerances given by our customer, meeting a challenging delivery schedule. This has also established Klune as a preferred supplier for monolithic machined aircraft doors.
