TAC-TOM Fuselage
Klune provides critical components for the fuselage, structure and hopper tank of the Tactical Tomahawk missile system.
Challenge
Klune has to produce several large and complex machined parts with a focus on consistency in the production process involving the collaboration with key sub-tier suppliers.
Remedy
Klune has implemented a dedicated lean manufacturing cell with CNC Milling machines, CMM and burring, located close to the processing and assembly areas. The program is run on a fireman's shift to optimize utilization of the equipment in order to meet our customer's production schedule.
Results
This has established Klune Industries has a preferred supplier for missile systems and other programs involving large complex machined components.
